Adding a sparkle to our Friday evening routine
Sunday, December 03, 2006
Some people do something on a Friday evening that translates into something relaxing, some others reserve that night for partying, and of course to many it is another evening spent any way they like to spend their evenings.
Anshul and I fall into the first category. I like to cook something quite and usually we like to different either in food selections(maybe a different cuisine) or a different wine and sometimes both.
Well given the holiday spirit, I tried to look for something with a sparkle and with our preference for red, I went to the neighbouring wine store with my wish. Being a typical suburban westchester corner store they stocked some predictable favorites. I had to settle for this non-descriptive rose that was sparkling. It was aptly names pink and had a delightfully pretty color, but nothing I would crave to have again.
This weekend, I ventured to the Westchester Wine Warehouse, White Plains, there the selection is really as good as it gets this neck of the woods. I found this wonderful bottle of sparkling Shiraz, yes also Austratian, from the Paringa vineyards. The sparkle and taste was a delight, and, priced at slightly over $10 we tought this was a bargain but will be something that would be great at our next party table. The sparkle will certainly carry us into Wednesday, that is WBW this week.

Thanks for participating in WBW#28! I'm glad you didn't stop at your first pick and persevered until you found something you liked better. It was great to hear about both of your picks.
Have great holidays!

Thanks, I just need an excuse not to stop at one.
